Every new employee into a FCTG travel sales role, commences the pathway of nationally recognised qualifications that are relevant to their new role. The courses are designed to complement your existing internal training program and support the development of our people.

HOW IS THE TRAINEESHIP DELIVERED?

Your traineeship pathway gives you a clear professional development plan throughout your career with Flight Centre Travel Group.

Year 1 and 2 is at the Certificate III level and focuses on key practical aspects of your role.

Year 3, at the Certificate IV level starts to introduce some self-management and leadership competencies.


The practical delivery of learning and assessment consists of the following:

  • Virtual Training sessions via the Ongoing Development Program

  • Collecting assessment evidence via work samples completed at work and in training

  • Virtual and face to face study days

  • Time set aside in store (booked like an appointment) to complete learning and assessments

  • 1 on 1 coaching appointments via phone, teams, zoom etc

CERTIFICATE III IN TRAVEL

SIT30222

This qualification reflects the role of individuals who use a range of well-developed retail travel or wholesale sales and operational skills and sound knowledge of industry operations to coordinate travel services. Using discretion and judgement, they work with some independence and under limited supervision using plans, policies and procedures to guide work activities.


This qualification provides a pathway to work in the retail travel or tour wholesale sector for employers that cover or specialise in leisure, corporate, domestic or international sales.

CERTIFICATE III IN BUSINESS (CUSTOMER ENGAGEMENT)

This qualification reflects the role of individuals in a variety of Business Services job roles. It is likely that these individuals are establishing their own work performance.
Individuals in these roles carry out a range of routine procedural, clerical, administrative or operational tasks that require technology and business skills. They apply a broad range of competencies using some discretion, judgement and relevant theoretical knowledge. They may provide technical advice and support to a team.

CERTIFICATE IV IN TRAVEL & TOURISM

This qualification reflects the role of skilled operators who use a broad range of tourism or travel skills and sound knowledge of industry operations to coordinate travel or tourism services. They operate independently or with limited guidance from others and use discretion to solve non-routine problems. Many people have supervisory responsibilities and plan, monitor and evaluate the work of team members.

CERTIFICATE IV IN BUSINESS (LEADERSHIP)

This qualification reflects the role of individuals in a variety of Business Services job roles. These individuals may have supervisory performance accountability.

Individuals in these roles carry out a mix of specialist and moderately complex administrative or operational tasks that require self-development skills. They use well-developed skills and a broad knowledge base to apply solutions to a defined range of unpredictable problems and analyse information from a variety of sources. They may provide leadership and guidance to others with some limited responsibility for the output of others.
